Aunt Flossie’s Spun Sugar, founded by Jody Barnes in November 2024, is a cottage foods confectionary shop nestled in Augusta, West Virginia. We specialize in live spinning for special events and offer prepackaged containers of unique cotton candy flavors that celebrate the rich culture of our beloved West Virginia hollers and hills.
Our mission is to provide the highest quality, freshly spun cotton candy, both for events and as a delightful treat option. We strive to bring joy to everyone we meet, whether they're savoring a prepackaged tub at home or watching their chosen flavor spun live. We are deeply committed to our community, actively involved with local organizations, and donate 10% of our sales to those in need. Our core mission is to build a better community by enhancing joy in the lives of everyone we meet.

We specialize in using artisan sugars, handcrafted in small batches, and spun fresh for your pleasure. We believe in quality, customization, and the special feeling our buyers take away from the overall Aunt Flossie’s experience.
Each event or order should be a pleasant, individual experience, savoring the sweet scent and soft texture of freshly spun sugar floss. These feelings of nostalgia rekindle childhood memories for adults, and new positive experiences are created for children. We are truly spinning sweet nostalgia, as our motto states. A memory spun with sugar and light
One of my earliest memories is having cotton candy at the Crawford County Fair: that pink cone in my hand, face sticky with spun sugar, riding on my dad’s shoulders as we walked by the Ferris wheel to go home in the dark. I can still see the lights of the rides and hear the music. I was tired, but that cotton candy was so good.
This cherished memory embodies the pure joy and simple magic we aim to recreate for our customers. We want every spin of cotton candy to become a sweet memory, connecting generations and creating new moments of happiness.
